A scenic walk from Ogwen taking in two of the Welsh 3,000’s, Y Garn and Elidir Fawr.

A round tour taking one of the harder routes, the Watkin Path, up to the top of Snowdon. The descent uses a trail down the neighbouring ridge to the west, allowing you to see the old quary both from the east on the way up, and the west on the way down.

Start at the pyg track to Crib Goch. Scramble over Crib Goch and Garnedd Ugain. Finish off the route up to summit Snowdon, then back down the Llanberis path. Before the end of the path turn right towards Llyn Peris, then when you reach the road walk into Nant Peris. From Nant Peris begin the second major ascent up Elidir Fawr. From the summit go around the ridge to Y Garn and then down to the Ogwen Tea Bar to finish.
