Hundevennlig tur i East Devon

Early May 2021 saw us walking this route in a clockwise direction, with superb coastal views and delightful Devon scenery. At the start is the River Estuary which is a birdlife sanctuary where patience is rewarded with a fine mix of waterfowl. The route could easily be extended to take in Otterton and the delights of Budleigh Salterton.

A circular walk mostly following the well signed Sid Valley circular route. This route takes in Sidbury and Sidmouth as well as the hamlet of Salcombe Regis. This route explores the rolling countryside around the Sid valley, The premium and characterful areas of Sidmouth, Sea front at Sidmouth and the low cliffs / coast path before going inland towards Salcombe Regis. Beautiful views, delightful scenery and many points of interest. *photos taken on phone which has water in lens. Sorry!

A walk through towering coniferous woodland and a field with an impressive view. Great escape from Exeter while only 3 miles away.  Sling walk or feet.

Lots of wildlife can be seen along the river Otter including beavers.

This is the Western half of the Sid Valley Ring. Start near Connaught Gardens and head inland along footpaths and little used lanes past amazing properties. Much of this section is a steady climb to Fire Beacon Hill. Then join the East Devon Way for a short section. There are fine views on this section.  After dropping down into Sidbury, the route leaves the East Devon way and heads towards Buckton and then the Byes.  The route finishes with a walk along the sea front.

Part of the Killerton Estate.  A great walk through the woods and up to the picture frame viewpoint which is beautiful.  At April/May time there's lots of lovely bluebells and wild garlic to enjoy too. Not suitable for prams as there are kissing gates.
