From Loch Morlich to Braeriach

This summit should be on everyone’s list who aims to become a “Munroist.” Braeriach is with 1296 metres (about 4,252 ft) the third-highest Munro but less popular than others. The summit is quite difficult to reach, not because of the ascent but the distance. Braeriach lies very remotely in the Cairngorms and is only accessible on foot. Reaching the top takes a few hours and stamina. This route starts at Glenmore and Lake Morlich, a beautiful sight right at the beginning of the hike. Plan enough time and, if necessary, take camping equipment with you and spend the night wild camping in the area. If you do so, please remember to take all your belongings (also waste) back with you and not leave any traces behind. The route is ideal if you are a hiking route away from the touristic places and people. The landscape is wild and natural – simply beautiful.
